Judy Phelps is the owner/instructor of Mountain Melodies Music Studio and Study Buddy Tutoring in Buena Vista, Colorado. She relocated here from Elgin, Illinoise in 2005 with her family. Mrs. Phelps is a graduate of Western Michigan U with a BM in Music Therapy and a BS in Music Education/Elementary Education and National Louis U with a Masters degree in Early Childhood Curriculum and Instruction. She has continued her professional development with postgraduate course work in the singing and reading connection, music/brain research and current issues in education.
After serving as a music therapist and Montessori Early Childhood Educatior, she spent the next 15 years in the public school music classroom using music to enhance learning of general concepts. Since the age of 9, piano, guitar and singing have been her passion. Judy has taught private lessons for over 40 years and has enjoyed sharing the joy of making music with hundreds of children and adults in 4 states! She directs the Buena Vista Voices Children's Chorus for the BV Recreaton Department and the CROWNS and JEWELS children's music ministry at the Valley Fellowship Church. She is also the owner of the Beat Goes On Consignment Shop (222 Hwy 24 S) where educational materials, instruments and music accessories and children's classes are available.

MOUNTAIN MELODIES
Mountain Melodies offers private and group lessons in piano, violin, flute and guitar with adjunct instructors available for lessons in clarinet, percussion and voice. Music instruments are available for purchase or rent. Toddler and preschool music activity classes and adult music appreciation classes are offered.

STUDY BUDDY TUTORING SERVICES
Study Buddy Tutoring Services are also offered at the shop location for preschool 0 7th grade in all subjects. Mrs. Phelps is certified and experienced, patient and creative and will motivate your child to accomplish to the best of their ability. All services are within walking distance from the school and are offered after school, early evening and morning hours (for home schoolers and adults)
